Our organization was informed that this year the umpires will be enforcing the inspection of all equipment (helmets, bats, facemask, catchers gear).
We want our players to be safe! Before the start of the game, the umpire will be checking the equipment to make sure all is secure.
We are hoping that when the girls arrive to the field for their games, they can place their helmet and bat outside the dugout.
This way the umpire can inspect the equipment while the team is warming up.
A few things to check:
Helmets - make sureall screws are in tact and nothing is loose. Chin straps are no longer required.
Catchers gear - Face cage is secure, all working clasps/clips for the catchers chest protector and leg guards
Bats - be sure that they are ASA approved. *Stamps can be seen below. Also, no loose tape or grips. Note, there is also a stamp with '2004' that is not shown below.
Reminder: No jewelry (this includes earrings, even studs), necklace, watches, fitbits, etc.
