2019-2020 Winter Players Clinics 

**In light of recent events all remaining clinics are canceled as of 3/12/2020**

November 2019 - March 2020 | Batchelder School Gym | $100 for Skills Clinics | $150 for Pitching or Catching

NRGS is offering 3 types of clinics for Divisions 8U - 14U!  We will be holding 9 weeks of pitching & catching (includes 1 free one, separate regisration required) and 8 weeks of hitting & fielding (includes 1 free, separate registration required). The clinics will run on alternating Sundays from November 2019 to March 2020 so you can sign up for both sessions!  See schedule below.

Meet our Instructors

Sarah Curry
Pitching Instructor

Starting at the early age of 6, Sarah played softball with the North Reading Youth Program up until 14U.  During those years, she was picked to play for various travel teams until the age of 18.  Sarah then went off to play for the Northeast High School Varsity team as their starting pitcher.  Not just a starting pitcher, Sarah was also versatile in other positions which made her a coach’s dream player.  After Sarah’s high school years, she decided to toss her glove to the side and pick up a scorebook.  She coached her first 8U team and continued that role for a few years.  As an instructor, Sarah provides the top techniques in pitching, fielding, and hitting.  Sarah currently attends Roger Williams University majoring in Economics.  Sarah is also available for private or group lessons in hitting, fielding, and or pitching.

 

Laura Walter
Hitting & Fielding Instructor

From Duxbury, Laura started playing tournament softball at the age of 12 for the Mass Drifters before moving on to the Bay State Thunder. At this time, Laura began taking pitching lessons and within a year was running softball clinics for Duxbury Youth Softball. A four-year varsity player, Laura graduated from Duxbury High School a two-time Patriot League All-Star, team MVP and Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic in 2010.  A captain her senior year (2010), Laura pitched every inning of her team's 20 games finishing with an amazing 221 strikeouts and only 4 walks, while also going 39 consecutive innings without giving up a single run.  Laura is a graduate from Roger Williams University.  Laura currently works for Rivals Training Facility in Woburn as a Hitting, Fielding, and Pitching Instructor. 

 

Mimi MahonMimi Mahon
Catching Instructor

From Hamilton, OH, Mimi played for Hamilton High School, varsity all four years, catcher/1B, 1st team All-Conference, and All-Region sophomore to senior year.

Mimi played four years of high-level collegiate softball.  She started at the University of Rio Grande (NAIA), 1st team All-Conference and All-Region both freshman and sophomore year.  Then, Mimi went on to play two years at Cleveland State University (NCAA Division 1).  Mimi’s accolades include; All-Newcomer team, Horizon League Champions - Junior Season, and NCAA Regional Appearance at University of Michigan.

Mimi’s coaching experiencing includes; Assistant Coach - Case Western Reserve University (2010-2011), Head Coach - Oberlin College (2011-2015), Assistant Coach and Strength & Conditioning Coach - DePauw University (2015-2017), and currently the Assistant Coach at Tufts University.
